We’ve been growing a three sisters garden together as a family this year and now it’s harvest time. The concept is inspired by a native American gardening method whereby the sweetcorn grows up as a natural trellis for the climbing beans whilst the squash and pumpkin prevent weeds and keeps the ground moist around the base. The combination of squash, corn and beans works just as harmoniously on a rustic pizza. Try adding some chilli and a good pinch of smoked sea salt.
Method
Preheat your pizza oven to 375˚C and roll out your dough. Place onto a floured peel and start by spreading tomato sauce around the pizza base with the base of the spoon.
Next scatter your pizza with all your three sisters toppings and some chilli. Season with smoked salt and drizzle with oil before baking.
Bake your pizza in the pizza oven for 2-3 mins turning every 30 seconds or so for an even crust.
Remove from the oven and top with freshly chopped coriander.

Over the years, they started wiping on olive oil, scattering salt and adding some garlic – until they realised they [...]
