The Grill Box Fire Cooking System

Konro Grills and the Grill Box Fire Cooking System

Cooking over charcoal has long been at the heart of great food, from Japanese yakitori stalls to modern live fire restaurants. The Grill Box Konro Grill brings this style of cooking to the UK with a beautifully engineered stainless steel charcoal grill designed for serious fire cooking.

Manufactured in Somerset, England, the Grill Box combines the intense radiant heat of a traditional konro grill with the versatility of a modular cooking system. Used on its own it performs as a powerful Japanese style hibachi grill, while additional frames allow it to expand into a complete fire cooking setup for robata grilling, asado cooking and flat top plancha cooking.

Whether you’re cooking in an outdoor kitchen, backyard or professional restaurant environment, the Grill Box Fire Cooking System delivers exceptional control when cooking over charcoal and glowing embers.

Built in Britain for Serious Fire Cooking

Every Grill Box grill is designed and manufactured in Somerset, using premium materials and precision engineering.
The grills are constructed entirely from 304 and 316 stainless steel, with thicknesses ranging from 2 mm to 8 mm, creating an exceptionally strong and durable cooking platform built for the intense heat of charcoal cooking.
Inside the firebox, the Grill Box is insulated with 25 mm vermiculite fire bricks, made from natural materials and selected for their excellent thermal performance. Vermiculite has very low thermal conductivity and can withstand temperatures of up to 1000 °C, helping the grill maintain stable cooking temperatures while improving fuel efficiency.
The result is a grill that delivers intense heat, durability and precise control when cooking over charcoal or wood embers.

The Foundation: Grill Box Konro Grill

At the heart of the system sits the Grill Box Konro Grill, the central firebox that powers the entire Grill Box range.

Konro grills are designed to concentrate heat within a narrow cooking chamber, producing powerful radiant heat that is ideal for skewers, seafood, vegetables and high heat grilling.
Used on its own, the Grill Box functions as a Japanese style konro or hibachi grill. When combined with additional frames and accessories, it becomes the foundation of a versatile fire cooking platform.

Expand Your Cooking Style

The modular design of the Grill Box allows cooks to expand the grill with specialised cooking frames designed for different fire cooking techniques.

Asado Style Cooking

The Grill Box Asado Frame introduces adjustable height grilling, allowing the cooking surface to be raised or lowered above the fire.
This provides precise control over cooking temperature and is ideal for cooking larger cuts slowly over glowing embers.

Robata Style Grilling

Robata grilling originates from Japan and uses multi level grilling to cook ingredients at different distances from the fire.

The Grill Box Robata Frame allows food to be positioned across several cooking levels, making it ideal for skewers, seafood and vegetables cooked over charcoal.
